Eric and Janet Johnson are missionary appointees with Converge Worldwide of the Baptist General Conference.  They are returning to Mexico where they served from 1983 to 2002.  Having spent the years since 2002 doing Latino ministry in the U.S. and Mexico, they will be ministering with Baptist leaders and pastors throughout the country, providing training and resources for the 1600+ churches that urgently need help: developing healthy, growing churches, a comprehensive disciple-making and leadership development process, and ministry to pastors' wives.

Here is a portion of the Johnson's latest prayer letter:

We serve a God who specializes in transforming lives!  What a privilege!  Let me share with you a synopsis of the life story of Sister Y.  She is part of one of the LeadNets  in Mexico City, and gave her testimony in the meeting I attended about 2 weeks ago.  Sister Y grew up in a small town in central Mexico, the youngest of 8 siblings.  She saw her father abuse and use her mother, and her older brothers grow up to treat their wives the same way.  She vowed never to marry.  During her teen years, a friend who was a Christ follower led her to the Lord, and Sister Y became ardent in her walk with the Lord.  She had to hide the fact that she was attending an evangelical church from her father, and when he found out, he kicked her out of the house.  She found refuge in her brother's home, who in turn kicked her out when she would not condone his life of sin.  God, in His amazing care of her, not only provided lodging and work, but also changed her heart when he brought a young pastor into her life who is now her husband.  He is a church planter/pastor who is involved in the FUTURA project to reach the urban disenfranchised for the Lord!   What pure joy to see God "doing His thing"  in Sister Y's life!
