Jerry and Dawn Carnill's ministry is one of discipling others to serve:through short-term teams working in cross-cultural hands-on ministry; empowering grass-roots ministries, which are reaching out to the poor in their own neighborhoods, advancing the outreach of ministries in Ecuador, Liberia, Honduras, Cuba, Ivory Coast and HIV/AIDS in South Africa

Here's the latest news from the Carnill's

The last week of September I traveled to Asia to visit partners and potential partners. A good friend Dan McCann and I traveled to Thailand to visit the Abundant Life Children's Network. This network wotks primarily with kids from the Karen tribe many of whom are refugees. Our main goal was to set up a vision tour to visit the children’s homes in 2010. Please watch for more details. We would like you to come with us. We then traveled to Cambodia to visit a children's home there that we full of kids who had been rescued from lives of slavery and prostitution on the streets of Phnom Penh and to reconnect with a friend from our Leader Mundial leader group. Then it was on to Nepal to visit an orphanage where we are in partnership with the Shared Values Connection. This orphanage is run by a young woman named Sangita. I was so impressed by her love for the children in her care.

Dawn is now on the road. He is in South Africa ministering along side a group of women from Troy Michigan and our partner Living Hope. Following my note is a message from her so I wont take away from her comments. But please pray for the boys and me. We are living the bachelor life and learning just how much we love and depend on Dawn. The boys haven't rebelled against my cooking yet. So I guess we’re doing fine. Dawn will be gone a total of just over 5 weeks. Her first two weeks are with the women's team from Troy. Then next week she will have a chance to rest a bit and to connect with our partners and staff in South Africa. Then I’ll show up for a couple of days before our Christmas team arrives. We’ll get home on December 12th.

The South Africa team is made up of people from across the USA. We are looking forward to co-leading this group with Ron and Barb Cline.  Those of you who know them can understand the great influence they have had on our lives. We are looking forward to spending time with the Clines and the team God has put together. We anticipate a great time of ministry. But we are sad that we will miss “Christmas in Quito”. This will be the first time we have not celebrated Christmas in the Quito dump since 1997. This is our biggest outreach all year. Please pray that God will provide all that is needed and that many people will come to him
